Decided to image the sun a little after midday...the seeing was guaranteed not be good...but at least it was clear.

I also had not noticed a very faint but very large prom until I processed the data later on...but...aye carrumba!

Without doubt the largest prom I have imaged to date.

Well captured Peter. To think of the amount of energy in that prominence - frightening yet a beauty at the same time.

Great Pic that Prom actually lifted up and circled back onto the Disc. Just finished a quick collage.

You got more detail than I did. Nice portrayal of the prominences today.

Cool, although I'm a bit worried that the sun looks like its about to split into several pieces with all those "cracks" on the surface!

Man, That is one Fine Image Peter, ive been wanting to see sol in such clarity with all the action captured, Truly stunning and that long filiment has two chanels to it through the Xray transmission which is then known as a Hyper Filimant .

Amaizing Work !

I'm not normally a fan of the two colour treatment, but the image is truly spectacular.
Is that a mosaic image? What do you use for joining them?

Sorry guys...I've been out of the IIS loop for a bit due to work and tax returns... but to save bandwidth....thank you all for your kind feedback!

Fact of the matter is, it's not the best solar image from a technical viewpoint, but I suspect the specky-subject-matter provided by old Sol more than makes up for any shortcomings on my part :)
