Hi Brian,
Re DVD 70 years of S&T. I have this set and it is really great. To look back at the issues post war and see all the nice goodies available is really neat. I wish I could get my hands on some of this stuff. Love it.
S&T in the US doesn't often answer queries, I have found. But I would keep trying though or contact Australian S&T.
You may be able to order it through the Australian Sky & Telescope site. http://www.austskyandtelescope.com.au/ They may be able to order it in for you.
Cheers Peter

I don't know how to get around the lack of credit card. Could you get someone with a credit card to order it for you? Seems to be on special at the moment.

Yeah Brian, it is a neat set to have. I use it frequently, usually when they mention in the mag to see a previous issue. S&T are now doing an annual disc as well. The set goes up to 2009 and there is a separate disc for 2010.

:) Thanks Peter , I used to love going up to our observatory in NZ and signing out an arm load of our clubs S&T mags from random months and years , we have a full set , and just perusing them , I must have read every one more than once or twice each , over the years , Cool ;).
Thats why I want these , One More Time ! .

To me? he. he ., sorry mate , I know how you feel , I did not want to leave 20 years worth of S&T and Astronomy mag's in storage in NZ so I donated the lot to the local High school , they have a strong science department there and will get good use :) out of them .
I will get these DVD's , soon , but I have just splashed out on a 127mm triplet ,, Merry Christmas to me ... :eyepop:

Brian, it is a scary world, but I don't think it is as bad as one may think. Problem is these days is that everything is beamed live onto the Internet and into our lounge rooms and it makes it seem much worse than it is. There are just so many people now that you would have to expect things to get worse a bit.
I just don't get out enough, I suppose?
Thank you Brian. :)

:) Thank you to Brother ,
On the last month before I left NZ ,and my last public night I was present in 2008 one of our members had a nice pair of 7x50 binos stolen , this was not discovered until we were locking up for the noght , we searched but to no evail . .
Me being the president of the ' Northland Astro Society' at the time went back up on sunday morning for a look in day light ,:mad2:. I found Brian's ( another Brian) binos trashed in a thousand pieces on the road side below the observatory , my heart sank !.
I had an idea who it was that done this as I always set my 6 inch refractor up out side on the observing deck , and could keep an eye outon the happenings ., but with no evidence ??? what can you do? .
Brian is a retired science teacher and would have given his binos to any one that asked ..
Mongrels ! , I hope karma's got them .
thats all I can say . :thanx:

I'm with you bro, Karma will get them. People usually get what they deserve, even if it takes a while. I know how he felt, for I have had stuff stolen from me too and I also suspected that I knew who it was, but like you, couldn't prove it!

Hey Brian, see S&T has reduced the 70 years of S&T to 179.95 US. To overcome the lack of a CC, you can get a debit MasterCard, which would allow you to get this set. A Debit MasterCard works like a CC, but instead you are using your own money. I had forgotten about this, as I have one, but I also have a CC as well. So look into the Debit MasterCard as this will solve your problem, Cheers Peter :)
