She looks lovely Ron. I will miss the old one though, it had so much character. Not many bridges have a bend in the middle of them.
I do believe your house price will have gone up now. Really I do.

Here's a reminder for your album:D
Cheers
It looks a beauty Ron.
I expect you wont be having too many flood problems now.

Awwww  goodbye old bridge.
Wow :eyepop: Fantastic new bridge :D. And it looks like they minimized the vegetation destruction on the embankments.
Congrats Ron, its about bloody time for you poor buggers over there. Finally a flood resistant bridge.
Thank goodness for the floodway below your place you can still get flooded in periodically:D
Heck, that looks like a superhighway now Ron.
So glad you've saved a happy snap of the old one though - was certainly a novelty, but suspect you won't be missing it.

I've seen a couple of old wooden bridges with bends in them, one much bigger than that. If the pylons aren't sunk in far enough and are still in the river gravel they will eventually move downstream as the gravel is moved by large flows. I imagine you might even see the difference are a good flood.
But what about quality of life? Probably up overall, though there can be downsides to being too accessible.

Ric, we will still get flooded in,but maybe not so much as Chinaman creek flows into the Mary River and so when the river is high the creek backs up so we can't get out anyway to use our You Beut Bridge:shrug:
Cheers:thumbsup:

We are reasoably far away from Civalisation to keep our way of life at the moment, but that could change as the price of land on the Sunshine coast is spiraling ever sky ward
Cheers:thumbsup:

Graham,The $2.56 million was paid mainly by the State and federal Governments under the rural infrstructure fund or something like that, so no Rates increase as far as we know :D
Cheers:thumbsup:
