Does anyone on IIS do laser or router cutting of sheet metal in small quantities for a modest/reasonable fee.

I'm designing a cold finger for TEC cooling a Canon 1000D (preferably copper - aluminium as a poorer alternative). The finger needs to find its way around components to retain the cameras original configuration. Consequently, the finger is a little intricate in places. A hacksaw and file might just get away with it, but a CNC would do a much better job.

I can supply a .dxf file. Material needs to be 1.5mm thickness to fit between back of sensor and circuit board.

Dew prevention is on the list of things to do. Several ideas about this.

Many thanks,

Rowland.

If you could supply an autocad mechanical desktop file then we might be able to do it for you

Hi Peter. I'm not using autocad mechanical. What is the file extension. Perhaps I can convert.

Found it. Autocad mechanical uses dxf and dwg extensions from what I can see. I can supply a .dxf file. Or will I run into header file issues that are particular to autocad mechanical.

It isn't a matter of the file format, I need it modeled in mech desktop so I can create the program from the file. It must be modeled in md for me to be able to use it, otherwise I'd have to write the program, and I won't have time unfortunately.

OK. I had in mind a 2D CNC, similar to those used by cutters of acrylic/poly sheet. I provide them with dxf or pdf. No problems thanks Peter.
