Here's a few shots from yesterday's trip to the glow worm tunnel. we walked through the tunnel and back around through the little canyon on the south side. FYI its a nice easy walk and great for kids.
All shots are existing light. The first tunnel shot is 30s looking out of the entrance, and the second is 60s looking in from just inside the exit.

Nice photos Al. What a great spot that grotto at the end is, eh? On a hot day it's still cool and lush. Did you try a long exposure in the centre of the tunnel to capture some of the wormies?

No, I didn't Chris. A normal lens shot wouldn't look very special I think... just dots on a black background (admittedly they'd be green, but no nebulae...:P). I did think a good long exposure macro shot would be a challenge, but, of course, no macro lens, no cable release... etc. Next time!;)
There is another really nice little canyon south of the tunnel the road goes through. There ois a parking area on the western side of the road just south of a cutting. Its a nice deep slot canyon, but it has a flat floor. Fit for family... just walk right through:D. It gets the most beautiful filtered light through it during the middle of the day, and of course its cool.;) A very photogenic place! Unfortunately we ran out of time to get there this time. But I intend to get there sometime... I haven't got any DSLR shots in that canyon yet, just film ones.
BTW the road is attrocious ATM! It broke my Hilux! (Well... rattled the battery loose anyway). I've never seen it so bad.

Yeah, those corrugations from Bungleboori on are atrocious. I'd hate to be someone trying it in a 2WD sedan.

Its not the corrugations actially... its potholes...potholes on potholes... potholes lurking in the shadows...
Let me know if you're planning a trip. I'm keen to get to Wolgan View Canyon again if I can fit it in.:D

Actually, you're right. It's the holes that are worse... especially if it's wet. I'll give you a hoy when Humayun is able to come up for a day or two. He was coming up this weekend, but I remembered that I had a wedding to go to. Whoops... Maybe the weekend after? Humayun?

:) Al that looks so much like the 'Abby caves' in Whangarei New Zealand , a nice spot for a bush walk as well .
The ponga's ( tree ferns ) are very similar as well , thanks for the memories mate!

No worries. I'm already thinking about taking the GS...:D... only one line of potholes to avoid.;)
Its a pretty lush place by Australian standards. I can see why you would see the similarity.:)
