Here is a photo taken on saturday 5th november from my deck.
It's a NT Thunder Head breaking into the Stratisphere , see the break in the inversion layers , about 60000 feet , and this one had POWER !
Hope you all enjoy.
Taken with Sony Alpha 200 DSLR and 55mm lense .

Is this Hector or one of the inland monsters?
Starting to show some nice Pileus on top of it too...

 Yes this bad boy dropped about 300mm or rain in 2 hours and over 500 ground strikes , I can only imagine if this sort of heavy duty rain fell down south , I dont mean to be smart :) or disrespectful , but its only the very beginning of the wet season up here and the power the bad boy's unleash is awsome to behold , but you gotta be careful :eyepop: .
I hope you people down south east dont get it again this year,
Brian.

:thanx: Yea mate they are a sight and sound to behold , this wet is building up to be a cracker ! we have already had a dozen big storms like this one , very early .
2 years ago I was driving down 'channell island' road out of Palmerston during a storm and I happened to be looking when a Bolt , about the diameter if a 44 gallon drum and dissaparing up into the clouds , took a big tree out in a flash! Smashed it like it was nothing, ! 20 metres from my car and I have never felt , seen or heard ! anything like this , mate the POWER !
GOD'S finger? , all I can say is lucky I was only going 40kph and not 20 metres to my right .
Awsome ! to see but scary.
Brian.
