Hi Everyone

There is currently a super massive solar prominence. Katie my 9 yo niece :rofl: took and processed this image in registax with a pst (single stack). 600 frames. here are both pics, mono and colour. I'm off to take a few images of my own.

Well done Katie,

That is impressive. How far out would that be stretching? I estimate the visible portion to be about 250,000 to 270,000 Klms.

Thanks Karen all clouds here today.Those shots of 1339 appreciated managed a 2 minute look between clouds. Some flaring is evident in the 3rd pic look foward to more.

I hope I can get my nephews into astronomy too! ( they are a bit young now - 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 -, but theres no time like the present I guess)
