I noticed another Bluetongue wandering through the vege garden today, however this fellow was less than happy with having his photo taken. :lol:

However he did provide some great shots. :thumbsup:

A great action shot Ric, with the mouth gaping wide open, revealing the origins of the creatures’ name!

I’ve only seen these in the wild and they seemed quite shy creatures.

Thanks guys, they are quite a shy critter. this fellow obviously had enough of being photographed though. In all the years of seeing Bluetongue's I have rarely seen them get this cranky.

He later headed off towards the road so I had to don a pair of gloves and move him to the safety of the forrest. It also gave me a chance to check him for ticks as well, despite his protests.:lol:

Hi Ric, nice Shingleback.

As I said all we get are the Eastern Bluetongue around here. My dad had one (or some) cruising about his place at Upper Mt Gravatt, and I've almost always had one here at Acacia Ridge. I have seen a couple of small ones over the years but there is a big one who likes living under the rock pile. Thats my excuse for not clearing it away and I'm sticking to it. ;)

He/she came out one day and the kids were rapt to grab it. These shots were taken in February this year, and I believe there are another set of photos when the 5 year old caught it last month.

I usually have a pair of old tweezers for removing ticks off them, I think they have a bit of trouble doing it themselves.
