Hi all
last night the skies were lovely and clear, no moon, and reasonably dark for Newcastle anyway. Imaged the Helix nebula. 17x10 mins ISO400. UV/IR and Baader UHCS filter used. Modded 350D. 10 inch f5.6 newt. Fairly warm night. Had to do meridian flip during imaging run.
A few nights before I did a quick run on the Saturn Nebula. I used the unmodded 600d as it has smaller pixels for higher resolution and the object is quite bright. I used 2x5 mins and 5x30 secs ISO200, focus with Live View on a background star. Both off axis hand guided as usual.
