Well me and the running man have always been trying to catch each other... Our little love affair started back in 2009 at a dark sky site, my scope was plauged with problems, guiding was up the duff nothing would work and the best i could get out of bertha was like a stream with a trickle. Come the season 2010 well.. i didn't get around to it untill it was just about to set over the green house that and lights on let him away again... Well i got him this time :) and to boot while i was ZZZZing away in my comfortable Queen size bed haaaaha!

So here it is;

90:50:50:50 4hrs total LRGB 10:5:5:5 min subs L @ 1x1 RGB at 2x2
No darks, bias, flats as this was only a testing session!

I know there are a few little whooopsys with the image that ill get around to fixing like the slightly off key spider vanes grrr

Hope you all enjoy
Brendan:thumbsup:

Really nice shot! It's smooth textured without looking over-processed. Very nice subtle colours too.

Cheers,

Thanks mike I think soon ill be pushing the limits of the 10" mirror in respects to it is consistantly pushing out decent data. I still want to optimise the OTA a bit more but there is only a little bit left to do in this area.

Thanks steve glad you liked

4hrs of data cam make for a nice over all smooth image. To the point that i havn't actually smoothed the image at all. when you get data like this it makes it really easy to push selective sharpening quite a fair way as you don't have to worry about sharpending and highlighting noise!

I do think the short colour subs lack the punch to really bring out the running man properly. never know i might put another 4hrs in 10 min subs bin 1x1 to see how much difference it makes!

I wasn't so happy with the flatness of the image so i restacked re tweaked and squeezed it a little bit more for some vibrancy and detail.

Actually prefer the first, very nice image overall, can't see any issue with the diffraction spikes, and focus is super sharp. The second looks a bit overdone after seeing the first.

I like the second, a little more detail brighter image also, nicely processed.

Thanks Ross

Hi clive, i found the image kind of flat the first time, but different monitors show the image differently. Mine is a colour calibrated monitor which helps things quite alot in getting the colour more natural and on my screen it looks fine but hey different horse's for courses.

Thanks Astroman
