Okay so i have been absent from posting any images. This is not a show stopper in fact its rough as dog spew but i thought ide share as i quite like the over all shapes and colours.

Im going to re visit this target and whack 4-5hrs on it to see what i can pull up but as it stands till the next fortnight or so

20:5:5:5 LRGB
Lum 10 min subs RGB 5min subs 2x2
No calibration files eg, flats darks bias

Normal kit 254 newt, OAG, Qhy9, EQ6pro

An interesting target for sure, I have seen a couple of this recently, and the blue loops are so interesting, a target of quite some activity, add the 4-5 hrs and let's have a look again, it will be worth while.

I imaged that myself over the last couple of nights. I think the Sky misnames it the Seagull Nebula which is something else but the stars form a pattern in a widerfield view that does look like a bird.

Let me tell you Mike withdrawls i've been right though them and come out on the other side. May i tells ya is a very long time not even touch the telescope let alone fire a the camera off in anger :D
Also its good to see that the OAG is working a treat with average RMS errors reported by maxim sitting approximately at 0.15 which corrosponds to an arc second error around 0.6 which is A. well below the seeing celing and B. below my resolution which is exactly what i want.

Your right Greg, the sky does name it the seagull nebula, but then again i did a search on it and there was a APOD that looked nigh on identical. I use this method to see if i can get a wide field of it to make sure I have got the right framing as some of the whispies don't show up till 5-10 min.

Lester and Clive, Im looking to do a minimum of 10min colour and 15 min Lum and possibly add in a swath of Ha to really make it stand out as this is a pretty active area being so close to the SMC. It makes it alot easier to do these kind of dim targets when your keeping 95% of your exposures :)

Not yet trev, as this image is just a tester, very rough and only very quick i probably wont put it up as a full sized image. Though i still have 4hrs of subs to sift though because i did a set and forget run so i could get some sleep before i had to wake up to go to work this morning :)
