sorry to bore you guys with B/W images but no filter wheel yet. more fiddling of the controls and l think a much better image, certainly makes me appreciate the efforts of Bird, Mike etc.

looking good Mick :) , you've got the cassini division very clearly this time - managed to get the sensitivity under control eh?

Kevin, for some reason it seems to work better with sense up set at 2x and not completely of, then shutter speed at 8000 with AGC of.
l'm going to start keeping setting records now that the images are starting to show some detail, l have just bought a new adapter with a built in 2.4 barlow which should arrive tomorrow so will be able to bump up the image size a little.

Um.. sense up and manual shutter shouldn't work at the same time. Using sense up will override any manual shutter setting. In effect at 2x sense up the shutter will be 1/25 of a second.
With my camera sense up also halves the resolution. It's like dropping to 768x288 but is resized to 768x576 in the camera. Not sure if yours is the same. If so setting sense up to off and using a little agc may be better.

l'll certainly give it a try Kevin, these cameras seem to have a lot of potential.

There's a lot of settings to play with anyway.
I'll attach a couple of pics to show the resolution difference between sense up on and sense up off. As you can see sense up on with my camera is very low res in the vertical plane. As long as there is enough light I can get a better picture with sense up off and a little agc.
So basically I would use sense up off for planets and sense up on for deep sky. I wish I could use the full resolution for deep sky. Have an experiment and see if yours is the same.

Looks good Mick.. i'm investigating whether a mintron camera will be a logical next step up for me, after the ToUcam.
If it can do high frame rate uncompressed data transfer to my laptop, then I get:
a) RGB imaging (ability to capture/focus each colour plane)
b) no data compression with high frame rates.
Which is exactly what I want.
