Went to Brisbane yesterday to take my son back.Had a brief cuppa before making trip back hope.We had a 'plane spotter tracker' thing on the computer-which amazingly tracks commercial airliners in real time.My son said this 777 would pass very close to his house and bank at the same time.
So I thought I would take a few quick photos with my 400L lens and 50D.Was quite surprised how ell they turned out.
No cropping (the tracker said it was at 3000ft), a little curves adjustment,no sharpening.
Hope you enjoy-Cheers Chris

I'm amazed - that's really something! the air must be clear where you are!

Yes,just worked out! (image taken at 11.16 am)
We have had such crappy weather he in QLD.Not sure if this could be done on
a regular basis this clear and sharpe. The previous day we had rain and storms in S.E QLD ,and I suspect it cleared the air a fair bit.
My son also captured a similar image with his new Canon 600D and my 70-20- F2.8 and it also looked clear-he had to crop a bit.-but was very happy.
On a foot note,I saw this same plane over take me on it return journey to Asia
at 2 pm,while I was at Fernavale eating a pie and taking photos of a Brahamry kite on a nest with chicks.

Hi Stephen.
I think you just google 'Fight radar' and make it a favourite.
I'll check and find a link,It's not on my computer. But it works very well
we watched this plane pass Leyburn an 5 minutes later in flew over
Coppers Plains.
BTW re red brow finch PP,not much-a little levels, curves and some Un sharp
mask, but not too much.Hope this helps. But the main thing with those small
birds is to get up very close-like about 3.5 to 4.2 m.
Nice shooting Chris, they are fun to capture, we are camped under the Darwin airport flight path at the moment, and i have so many plane pics i don't know what to do with them.
Maybe I could post some here. :)
Don't mean to hijack your thread Chris, just thought some here may find them interesting
Leon

Yes-its not the cleanest plane,bet H.R.H Q.E II, British Airways Boeing 777
will not look as dirty as this one.when she visits Australia soon.
Great images Leon!,the C130 looks good-the props and the sweep behind them.Unfortunately these will soon be gone from our skies.
