Hello all,

I've just finished processing this image of M106. It's one of my first attempts of shooting by VC200L at full focal length and it is definitely a challenge coming from a wide field imaging. Seeing and autoguide weren't at their best, but the final result wasn't that bad, so I hope you can give me hints on improve its processing.

This is a preview of it, comments and criticism always welcome

Very nice start Nicola, The VC200L is a lovely scope with a nice focal length but the jump in focal length does make guiding a bit more critical.

Great start, upwards from here.

Very nice. Long subs, 25+mins on the luminance!!

What mount and guider are you using? I've had much better success guiding with my LAodestar at that focal length using the OAG of the QSI, compared to a QHY5 guider.

Nicola,great effort indeed! the blue looks way to strong to me and the red down a touch and the green up a touch.

Some mild noise reduction for the background would be nice and the signal in the core looks excellent! so,could easily handle some smart sharpen selectively.

I see some color gradients that should be dealt with,and I feel that some good old basic "local contrast"would be a must.

Still,I love this galaxy so well done anyway.

Thanks everyone!

@jjjnettie: grazie! :)

@mill: thanks, glad you like them

@Ross G: thank you, do you think there is an excess of red in the core?

@DavidTrap: :rofl: that was a typo, I corrected it.

@atalas: thank you for the detailed comment, I'll have a look at it tonight again. If worth the effort I'll post an update.
