I liked it, hope it gets better though. Interesting concept for a show though...if it doesnt go the way of Firefly.

Seems alright -ish so far.
Compared to say SG1, SGU or SGA.......mmmmmm have to see a few more eps to see if it matches up.
I thinks its a stopgap b4 Blood and Chrome.........you know....see if the public will go for the dinos b4 the chrome domes.
Now I hope that Blood and Chrome will be worth the wait!

I thought it was good, but started to remind me of LOST towards the end.

I hope it doesn't become like that!

The scenes of dinosaurs attacking people in the vehicles and high dino-proof fencing was very Jurassic Park. And the same actor as in Avatar playing the head of the colony...I was suffering from movie-confusion!

The family at the centre of the story-line had good character development IMO. I was drawn in by the story of their separation and re-union, smuggling the third child in, stroppy teenager missing his girlfriend, etc.

I agree with others that the FX were a little lacking. Still, there are enough elements of intrigue and interest for me to return next Sunday for the second instalment.

Thing that turns me off watching these sorts of series is they never have an end and become essentially soapies ala Lost, Prison break etc the story just rolls on and on and becomes silly and annoying, may as well call it Home and Away or Neigbours in sci fi

I would prefer they were a proper mini series with a beginning and an end - maybe just a few episodes or so..?

Hope you all enjoy it though

Good point Mike, and quite right. They just go on and on until advertising dollars dry up and the producers cancel it.

finally I watched it today, not bad, quite entertaining.

I've heard that the full 1st season was approved, so we will see at least 13 episodes, I suppose its future beyond that will depend on the success of the show.

Apparently Spielberg did not like the idea of filming it in Hawaii (where Lost and all the Jurassic Park movies were filmed) and opted for Queensland instead.

The story itself doesn't make any sense (why go to the past looking for a better future, knowing that a giant comet will hit the Earth and most species including the dinos will disappear?), but if you go for the entertainment, it is good fun.

My big problem is that I always try to make sense of the movies I see and this frustates me (the other day I saw Source Code and it did not make any sense....grrrrrrrrrr!)

Release your frustration and just enjoy it is your choice I am sure I have heard the Dalia Lama say something similar somewhere:D:P

Over the weeks I became a fan, I quite enjoy the show, I try to see it as entertainment and not pay too much attention to the crazy plot.
What annoys me is that suddenly channel 10 stopped screening it without any explanation...while still beeing screened in USA, now I already know what happens in the season finale thanks to the internet.

That's one of the reasons why I don't watch the "reality TV" channels. Channel 10 always does that to series they put on, especially sci-fi. Seems as if the execs at Channel 10 have the attention span of gnats and once something interesting passes a few episodes, they switch off. If it was some banal piece of nonsense like "Who Humped Who: Season 25" or some completely slack "comedy/variety" series, they'd be all over it.

unfortunately that is true Carl, I don't mind "reality tv", I just change channel when they show that kind of rubbish, but lately it seems to be a big business and those kind of "shows" are everywere. The result: good fiction shows are being axed because making reality tv is cheaper and apparently "more popular" (I find hard to believe that).
Good fictionals shows such as "Criminal Minds:Suspect Behaviour", "The Event", "V" and many others were axed because they apparently can't compete with "reality tv" :mad2:

What it shows, Amalia, is how far the human species has sunk. That we can be easily "entertained" and "brain zapped" by nonsense that 20 or more years ago wouldn't have even got a look in because everyone knew it was rubbish, base and ridiculous. Simple fact is it caters to morons and narcissists who have so little of interest in their lives they just sit around and contemplate someone else's navel.

So true that :) But get used to "reality television" as it isn't going anywhere while it remains so cheap to make. I don't watch much "TV" anyway, rather put a movie of my choosing on. :D

:screwy: Yes I dont watch TV except the 5am news before I start work Peter and Amelia , all it is is advertising rubbish with a few reality shows throwen in , so the producers can rewind the ads and start it all over , its CR^P! :( the way TV's gone .
I use tv as a medium to watch SIFI DVD's.

I don't watch anything "live" except the news. I record the shows that I like and them watch without the hazzard of the ads. Right now the only ones are Terra Nova and Criminal Minds and the odd science show that sometimes screen abc or sbs. And of course At the Movies.

Talking about sci fi dvds, last night I watched Cowboys & Aliens, a bit silly but good entertainment, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting.

I watched the first three episodes and that was enough for me. It could have been so much more but instead it's just a PG rated soap opera with average SFX.:mad2:
