Hi all,

I've just returned from a week up in the Burdekin in North Qld (harvesting some sugarcane trials), and the last day or 2 was very smokey. I was watching a deep orange sun set yesterday (September 29th) and decided to grab the camera and capture it. To my surprise I also recorded 4 sunspots, which are visible in the second image (a 100% crop). The third image was an equally orange sunrise.

All taken with the 50D and 70-200 telephoto.

Cheers,
Stephen

Great capture Stephen.
This group I have been watching for a week or so, taking a pic most days. It's a decent size too, naked eye, through the appropriate filter of course.

Thaks Gary. With all that smoke around I didn't need any filters!

Stephen

Thanks Bob! As I said I'm surprised that I captured them so clearly.
