Al's Reticle is not written as a 64 bit app. Up to v3.1 was compiled on a Pentium 4 processor under XP. v3.2 was compiled on an i7 under 64 bit Windows 7 but so far a lot of spectroscopists around the workd have been using v3.2 on XP and earlier 32 bit machines without any trouble... so it is not a 64 bit app, however, I have no problem running under win 7.
Did you try my suggestions from your original thread?

Philip,
Als Reticle is compiled using Visual Basic 2005 (VB NET). It requires that you have the .NET framework installed on your computer. I assume that any wondows 7 machine would have the .NET framework installed, but that is an assumption on my part. It is worth checking. The program will certainly not work on XP without the .NET framework.
The .NET framework should be available as a windows update, if you cannot see it on the list of available updates, then I suggest you already have it installed.
