Saturn/Sac Mintron

after a lot of time l finally started to get the hang of the controls on the Mintron camera, because of the sensitivity planets have been a real problem but they are starting to get better

CD present and accounted for & banding on the globe is visible. I believe you may have captured a moon as well...at about 2 o'clock, could be wrong though.

The mintron is way way more sensative then a toucam...that was my problem too.....how about filters they may help to lessen the sensativity.

Hi Mick, you don't say what settings you used but if your Mintron is like mine it's easy to kill the sensitivity.

In the main menu choose sense up - off, ALC/ELC to ALC, AGC to off. Go into the ALC submenu, there you should see shutter settings. You can manually choose from 1/100 to 1/12000 of a second. I can kill a full moon at 1/12000 sec at f5 so Saturn should be no problem.

That should work unless your menu structure is different. If so post pics of the menu and I'll see if I can help.

hi Kevin, thanks for the reply, it was the shutter speed function that l was not aware of, l spoke to Steve Massey today and he told me how to access it but thank you anyway. what does the level function do in ALC?

Actually I'm not too sure what function the level control performs. The picture gets brighter when moved to the right and dimmer when moved to the left but I'm not sure if it's some kind of AGC/gamma control or something else. In some modes it doesn't seem to do anything so I'm a bit confused about it.
