Hello all,

Recently purchased a Coronado PST with a view to imaging the sun. I thought I would share my second try at producing an image. Suggestions or Critique is very welcome. I know I should have a mono ccd camera to do the best work but I don't run a laptop in the field. Maybe one day....

Canon 1000D
Baader Hyperion 8-24mm EP @ 16mm
NEQ6 PRO Mount
Blend of two exposures (one for surface detail, one for prominences)

Hi Greg
That is a great pic!
I can give no feedback as I have no experience with your camera.
Keep going - hard to believe it was your second attempt!

Thank you very much Matt :D I like to hit the ground running so to speak so before I even brought the scope I did a lot of research on how to capture and process these images, as well as communicating with others who use a similar setup. My first attempt was pretty bad in terms of processing. The data was there but I couldn't bring it out. For this second go I imaged with different settings which helped me to focus and tried a different processing technique. Very happy with how it worked.

It was indeed. Thanks Petra :D You will be able to see this image on the big screen at the next ASAW meeting. I'm ment to be doing a talk on my astrophotography so far.
