Thanks Paul. Thankfully the tracker now has a far more versatile electronics pack....hence I'm thinking of more challenging locations + subjects without having to lug a tonne of gear...might even try my hand at some timelapse
sequences ;)

The first hurdle to get past is APOD's indiscriminate of blocking any IP where part of that /8 is in Asia, without bothering to check if your bit is in Australia, New Zealand or Japan. With their "anti-spammer rules" they should also be blocking most of the USA.

Peter, can you give a rundown of what bits you have to buy to get a working Starlapse? I gather you can get one with a RA drive and add the Dec one later.

Scott's rather abstract web site does not make it easy to work out.

Happily I got an APOD with another shot of the rock last year..... As for the StarLapse, the basic kit is all you need. ( drive, beam, clamp) plus battery (a 12Vdc gel-cell would run it for a week) and solid photographic tripod.

I added a ball-head to mine to be able to get the right orientation for terrestrial subjects. To run two cameras you'd need two clamps.... There are many other options but it probably wouldn't be appropriate for me to rabbit on about here....
