A small nebula in the SMC.

3.5 hours Ha (red)
3 hours OIII (blue)
synthetic green

Taken using GSO RC10 with focal reducer (f/6.4) on AP900 mount under inner-suburban Brisbane skies. Camera was Starlight Xpress SXVR-H18 with Astrodon 5nm Ha and OIII filters.

I always struggle to get the colour right in LRGB images. Perhaps NB is the answer. Then again, perhaps not :)

Cheers,
Rick.

Gee that's very nice and such great resolution. I imaged that one recently and you've gotten much better resolution there.

It is predominantly an O111 object and O111 is a teal green so I think your colour is pretty close there.

Hi Rick,

You have captured such great detail.

Thanks.

Ross.

I shot this one a long time ago, clearly with narrowband you pick up a lot of gas detail that just doesn't come out in RGB, i think though you need to add some rgb data as the stars do give it the extra interest, the core area has a collection of what appear to be young hot stars with a rather intriguing collective spray of yellow stars off to one side.

This is a tough one to image as it's actually quite a small object.

Thanks, Greg. The RC10 and reducer seem to be working well together.

Thanks, Louie!

Thanks, Ross!

Thanks for the suggestion, Clive. I will have a go at adding some RGB. That will certainly exercise my processing skills! I'll probably have to wait until I get up to Ten Chain Hill again to collect some good quality subs. The light pollution here is awful.

Cheers,
Rick.

Rick

Nice image well done. Do you have some SII to add to it?

I might try this in RGB next 10Ch, if the haze ever clears :)

Thanks, Geoff. I might try for some SII later this week. If you get some RGB I might have a go at integrating it with the NB data (if you don't mind...) It is a fairly small object. I've been imaging it at 1600mm fl.

Definitely hoping for clearer skies by next Saturday!

Cheers,
Rick.

I like that a lot. Green always accentuates the details in Ha.

Thanks, Marc! It's nice to have some imaging options that don't require simultaneously dark and clear skies since they seem to be in short supply around here...
