Hi all
After seeing it visually with the Newcastle Astronomical Society's 12 inch dob at a veiwing night near my place on Wednesday night I imaged it the following night.

I used my ironically named "Cometracker" meade 6 inch f3.6 SN.
10x5 mins ISO400. UV/IR filter, MPCC Baader Coma Corrector. Modded 350D camera.

I could not see it visually with my 8x50 finder from my place, was easy with the 12 inch in nearby Brickworks Park the previous night.

Thanks for showing your pic Scott

just a newbie question on the star trials: is that the distance they've travelled over a 5 minute period, relative to the comet? You took 10 x 5 min. shots: do these get superimposed to create the final image? Pardon me for asking; I'm trying to get used to all the lingo/processes for all this new digital imaging........I'm still stuck in the old film days :P
So it's a 5 minute 'effective' trail, not a 50 min. one, yes?

Also, the shot shows me I had seen it last night through my 4.5" tiddler...I remember the bright star just off to the side :)

Cheers
John
