Hi all,

So tired! :D

Up at 4 every morning and into bed around midnight. Very tired, but, having loads of fun. I saw snow fall today while driving. It looked spectacular.

Here's a sneak peak of the type of scenery I'm encountering in my hiking.

This was shot 20 minutes after sunset with the 5D Mark II and the 17-40mm f/4L USM on the way back from a ridge with spectacular sunset views of the alps. Sunset was a let down, but, I didn't want to come home without an image.

Small image because I'm using my mobile phone as an Internet connection.

Straight out of Digital Photo Professional.

Good to see your having a great time H.

The sneek peek looks great, so lush and green.

It really is like being on another world over there.

Thank you so much, all. :)

I didn't end up getting more forest shots, and, the one that I did take, I accidentally shut the camera off (pulled batteries out) while it was doing a dark frame, so, lost the image. It was the same scene as this one, but, done using a proper ISO (this one was shot at ISO-3200 to allow me to work out the appropriate exposure/aperture/ISO to use for the proper image). By the time the 10-minute exposure had finished, there wasn't really any light left to speak of under the thick canopy, so, I didn't bother taking another image. I'll just have to try again next time. :)
