Hi All,

Well, the GFS charts predicted worst conditions than I experienced on Sept 11th but it actually turned out considerably better, almost good in fact.

I really hope this is a trend that continues, two successive mornings where the seeing actually got better. This is the first time for this apparition that I have been able to resolve the tiny white ovals in the Sth Polar region & STeB. Reckon this is a better indication of what my new optics will produce if I do get some "good" seeing.

Have posted 2 RGB & 2 807nm IR data sets along with a link to a IR animation of 4 data sets.

Thanks for looking.

Looking really good Trevor. The contrast provided by the new optics is impressive. Regards Ray

These are pretty good really Trev. Considering our declination and its elevation, I am sure better seeing will give us something but some nice seeing would be good. I was tempted last night but decided sleep was more important. Maybe tonight.

Thanks Paul, looking at our relative latitudes with Clayton Bay at -35 degrees 7 min's, Murrumbateman at -34 degrees 58 min's & Broken Hill at -31 degrees 58 min's, I think with a bit of good seeing the higher alt of Jupiter up here will make a difference if we get some luck in October. For this particular session the highest alt for Jup was 44 degrees 33 min's 34 sec's. For Oct 28th Jups highest alt will be 46 degrees 6 min's 19 sec's just before midnight.

Thanks very much Mike.

Thanks very much Graeme.

Thanks very much Lester, yep, as the air becomes more stable the excitement levels in the old observatory certainly rise.

Thanks very much Ray, reckon I have been spoilt over the last few years with good seeing being the norm up here. Now with this new scope I just cant wait to capture some photons through stable air.
