Testing my GSO RC10 with AP 27TVPH reducer (takes it down to about f/6.4). Six 15 minute exposures with Astrodon 5nm Ha filter and SX H18 camera. It could do with some more, but of course it was cloudy the next night...

Cheers,
Rick.

Rick, that's an excellent result on this object.

Thanks, Ross & Narayan. I hope to get out again soon and get some more subs to reduce the noise a bit. Someone pointed out to me tonight that you can see a ghostly face above the brightest part of the nebula. A vivid imagination may be required ;)

Cheers,
Rick.

Now you mention it, I do...and I thought I knew this object really well, but never noticed the phantom

Nice capture Rick. Bloody clouds, they should be taxed and maybe there wont be so many of them. I have a couple of images started which will have to wait till next year to get finished for the same reason.
Glad to see you have the scope working. It's a big one and at the focal length should be a ripper.

Well done, Nice start.

Thanks, Doug. The scope did a very nice job on NGC 6752 as well, but I need to redo that one once the moon is gone.

Cheers,
Rick.

Robin, I set up in the driveway so I get a bit of a view to the south, at least until the trees our landscaper planted grow a bit more. NGC 346 is in the SMC. I suspect it will be behind a flame tree this time next year. I do have a deck at the top of the house that's at treetop level. Might have to move my gear up there one day and pray that the heat off the roof doesn't mess up the seeing any worse than it is already.

I managed to get three hours of OIII on NGC 346 last night. If it's clear again tonight I'll grab some more Ha and then have a go at a bi-colour image.

Cheers,
Rick.
