Here's another shot from BSG. Centered on Alpha Crux. This one was a quickie (4x300s) with QHY8/SMC Pentax-M F1:2.8 100mm at F5.6 testing focus and guiding early in the night.
Bigger file here (http://www.astropic.net/astro/AlphaCrux_rgb_ff.jpg)[4MB] and a more friendly download here (http://www.astropic.net/astro/AlphaCrux_rgb_f.jpg). [1.8MB]
Looking back at it I could have framed the cross better but I was focusing on the bright star at the time and didn't really think about it. Next time. I still got the jewelbox in the field. :)
Not half bad Marc, for a quicky.

A mosaic of the whole Crux area would be nice, Marc :D

Another nice one Marc. You were busy alright. No wonder we didn't see much of you on the tennis court.
You seem to have the lens and 8 working well together.

Thanks Leon. Turned out alright given only a few subs.
Thanks Rick. I've probably got enough various shots lying around to make one. I always focus in the area. :P
Thanks Mike. Rotating the camera 90 degrees should do it next time.
Thanks JJJ. Glad you liked it.
Thanks Paul.
Thanks David.
Thanks Louie. Dark skies always win.
Thanks Darren. Me too. Got lucky this time.
Thanks a lot Ross.
Thanks Doug. I was lurking around in the dark, that's why you didn't see me. You must have heard the tent zippers going up and down all night though.
Thanks Lester.
