I have applied the high pass filter from photoshop to my original image posted a couple of days ago. The one on the left is the original. The right one is the high pass filter image. Comments welcome.

Detail jumps out as does the increased contrast HighPass gives, structure excellent in both images.

That is a nice improvement. I might have to give it a go on some of my images.

The detail is certainly improved. What scope did you use? It looks blurry in the top right corner. I had a similar problem with my scope and it seems to have been a loose focuser.

Thanks all. The scope was a William Optics Flt 110 with a QHY-9. I don't have a field flattener so that may help in future. I am going to run 15 minute darks for this image but have not done so yet. It is three hours of 15 minute shots. I need to make sure I take flats and bias flats as well as darks. Next time.

Well done Mark, both shots look great. The High pass filter certainly gives it a boost.
All you need now is that flattener :D

It's not too late to do the darks and bias frames. They don't change that much. I use a master dark and bias for about 3 months before retaking them.
With my setup (same as yours) I have found that any dust on the filters make little if any different to the flats. I can get away with using a single flat until I clean the camera. I have a 20mm spacer between the camera and filter wheel. Not having that spacer may make a difference.

Hi Mark,
Both photos look great. So much detail and sharp.
The High Pass versions is so dramatic.
Thanks.
Ross.
Looks great Mark, but then I loved the original too. Perhaps somewhere in between? (not too hot, not too cold....:D)
