Late this afternoon this Royal Flying Doctor Service, 'Beechcraft Kingair'
registration- VH-FDM flew low heading towards Kingaroy.
I was able to get these to quick frames with Canon 50D in high frame rate capture mode (6.3 frames per second)-settings iso 400,speed 1/640 th of a second.Camera attached to Vixen ED 103 refractor on a Vixen GPD2 mount.
Given the camera was doing 6.3 fps,the plane must have been fairly low,and at quite a speed,as there is a fair gap between these images.(Not sure if taking JPEG and RAW at the same frame slows the camera down)
Enough data here to do some maths.Hope this may be of interest
Thanks for looking-Chris
BTW- 2 images are low res frames no crop no pp,just the JPEG's,I have the raw to spruce up later,my son got some good video footage too,I'll try and load up,if there is any interest. The third is a PP version, some adjustment in levels and curves

Great shots Chris!
The aircraft appears to be at 11,000ft and travelling about 250 knots, which seems to fit the expected speed of this aircraft at that altitude.

Nicely done again Chris!!
I deal with the RFDS quite a bit, so am chuffed to see this.

Oh, and assuming about 10 deg of prop rotation during an exposure then the propellers would be going at 2100rpm.
I like how the lighting on the aircraft matches that of the Moon. Very nice shots indeed.

Thanks Tom and Liz
Yes,Tom-my son has some 'plane tracker' thing on computer, and it shows plane with transponder-details,height etc-these RFDS plane fly at approx 12'000 ft over our place on their way to Kingaroy.I will try and up load a section of my son's Video-looks like a wasp passing an apple.
Yes-Liz,RFDS a very special part of Australian medical service, pleased to capture this image.I like the lighting-sun just about to slip down it was 5.21pm.
Cheers Chris

Thanks Ken.
Another amateur photographer suggested maybe a Black and White version
would look good.I had not thought of that-so here is a quick go.There was
a lot of smoke in air from grass fires-so moon detail was poor
Cheers Chris
At it again mate, would have been a beauty had it been a bit lower.
It would be hard to beat your original one Chris, ;) top shot though.
The best I have so far achieved is this, the moon is a bit small though
Leon

About 50m to the right Chris and you would have had it on the Moon : )

Nice one Steve :)
The aircraft appears to be at 1ft and travelling about 0 knots, which seems to fit the expected speed of this model aircraft at that altitude :)

That is a very fine looking model of a Viscount there Steve!
to good to be out in the weather-look good hanging above
a private bar-did your father make it?,So well done-all in scale
and proportion-just perfect.
Yes,Leon-doubt I'll get another image as good as the first one.
But the moon is the pathway of planes twice a year so I thought
I'd have a go.No more moons now till next year.That DC 9 (B717)
looks great near the moon.
Yes.Bart-will try and get a jet plane on moon next time.there is a UAE 777
goes over ever night at 9.15 pm.I want to get him on the moon, the moon will be closer to full when its in pathway. So hope to get it one year.
