View Full Version here: : Last repro of NGC253 (promise).
Ok my very last repro or Sidonio of NGC253 (i promise).
My redone ngc253 was very soft in color and not so good at all (i think).
So here the new version of 2Gigabyte -->> http://martinsastro.net/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pid=102#top_display_media
And a smaller one here.

Looks good Martin, except one small thing but it is a bit distracting. You have black rings around the stars. Get rid of that and you have a lovely image.
Thank you Darren
Got the repro but grainy :P
Thank you David
Thanks Paul :)
The black rings must be from the minimum filter i used to make the stars smaller :(

I had a look back to the original effort, says
G11 guiding test on 24-08-2011 with latest August firmware.
10x200Sec RGB and 25x300Sec L on a ED80 and QHY9.
Mate, fantastic detail for an 80 mm scope, was this shot from home or dark skies somewhere.
Thank you very much Clive :D
This was taken from my backyard in Mount Evelyn.

That looks very good Martyn, some nice detail there and the colours are subtle. One thing though, there is a large dark elongated smudge left of the galaxy, t'is a bit distracting in an otherwise fine shot

Martin, in case you are not doing this, but with the use of the minimum filter use that with a duplicate layer and once apply the filter in the duplicate layer use the opacity slider. This prevents ringing. It is slightly different from other minimum type of applications but I have found this works for me.
Thank you Mike :)
Looks like i better go to the optician again because my eye sight gets worse :(
Thank you for the tip Paul
I still am at baby steps with layers so i only use levels, curves and the other easy stuff in CS

Now that is nice Marty, a nice balance of colour and detail and your stars do look very nice and round. My only fault would be that the stars look a little short of colour. Always a hard task to balance your image and star saturation with the QHY9 but not un achievable.
Thank you Ross
Thanks mate :)
Yes when processing you sometimes get carried away and miss subtle things :(
