Hello to all of my colleagues 'down under' as we in the U.S. refer to OZ! I recently joined IIS at the suggestion of my esteemed fellow imagers Trevor Barry and Paul Haese and thank them for referring me here. Although I'm already acquainted with a number of the members of this forum, I imagine that at least a brief introduction is in order.

I've been a planetary imager for quite a few years, ever since I dismantled my VHS-C video camera in the late 1980's and attached it to the focuser of a Criterion RK-7 "Dynascope" that my dad gave me for my 8th birthday. It was indeed purchased new and that 38 year old scope still provides views for my children. Over the years, I've graduated to larger and more exotic scopes and became addicted to views of Jupiter when I dismantled my ex-wife's Connectix QuickCam back in the early 90's and machined a nosepiece for it to attach to my old 10" Meade SCT.

My present imaging setup is a C14xlt, PGR Flea3, and Astronomik Type 2 filters. I image from my home observatory in West Chester, Pennsylvania -- a town located on the east coast of the U.S. at 40N -- about 40 miles west of Philadelphia.

My most recent images are on my site at http://exosky.net/, but since we have the second tropical weather system in the last two weeks moving through, I had some time to revisit my Saturn work for the past apparition. So, I think that the introduction of a new member should be accompanied by a new image -- what I think is one of my better of the recent apparition and is one of the few images of the apparition that doesn't bear the signs of the historic storm. It was taken on 31 December 2010.

My regards to all and I look forward to sharing images and discussion with you all.

Wayne

Nice to meet you, Ron. And good to hear from you Bird! I hope things are well with you.

We've just hit 30" of rain in the last 5 weeks with another solid week in the forecast, so I may have to wait to image again until after I finish building an ark.

Regards,

Wayne
