Hello,
I haven't posted here for some time for one reason or another but, I have made my first attempt at an LRGB image this morning, I imaged M42 just because I've been wanting to image it for years. I acknowledge that this may not be the finest example of M42, but I am cheering. This is because having bought a camera in January, I have only just started using it now.

Details;
GSO 8" RC
Orion parsec 8300M
Starlite Express filter wheel,
11 X 100 sec Ha
3 X 200 sec RGB
CCD Stack
Curves in CS3

Your thoughts are welcome and would be appreciated.

Trent

Hi Trent

Congrats on your first LRGB image,a great effort.....or,actually HaRGB looking at your exposures.

So,It's kinda tricky getting a good looking blend but you will get there mate.

Well done, Trent. Off to a flying start!

I think you've tried for a much harder combination than a strandard straight LRGB blend. Hydrogen alpha blending is a real pain in the rear, which has a propensity to mute colours in your image, and, tend reds towards salmon pinks.

Did you get any luminance data, at all? Might be worth going back and grabbing some and replacing the hydrogen alpha component for the time being. :)

Good stuff, and, send a hello to Julie. :)

A nice photo Trent.

That first successful photo from any new combination is always such a great feeling.

Thanks.

Ross.
