Hi all, been a while since I posted anything, here is a shot of C/2010 X1 Elenin, taken around 1855 tonight.
Only managed 5 x 2 minutes @ -20c, ST8300C OSC. Comet was setting fast in the western sky and was disappearing into the Zodiacal Light which was quite bright from this location, telescope was almost horizontal. A couple of faint galaxies are visible in the upper right.
Takahashi FSQ-106ED.

Great shot John, can see you coming over to the green side! ;)
You'd need Hubble to tell that at the moment with certainty t.i.w. But the nucleus is elongating which is a good sign that it is, and the comet is dimming quite fast (around two magnitudes in the last two weeks).

Great image John. Nice to see the comet hanging around for a bit longer.
Alas, still havent seen it, as quite low in the west, so dragged scope down to the back road last night = instant large amount of cloud in the west!! .... always tonight.

Thanks all.
I pushed the brightness way up to see if there was any form of tail.

I think you've done brilliantly there John. Very difficult so low in the west. Well done.

This is a great image John, given how low down it is. The fact that it is still green is interesting...
