Last night was my second time (ever) imaging the moon through my scope... be nice! :)

Canon 5DmkII in 1080p video mode (3x 60 sec @ 25 fps) attached to a 5x TV PowerMate and WO FLT-132 refractor. Three scenes auto merged in Photoshop, where the best 200 out of 1500 frames for each scene was stacked with Registax.

Looks great.

I tend to take single shots with a DSLR though at full resolution, the image is bright enough in my scope to use fast shutter speeds.

I'd be interested to see how some stills stacked compare to the video stacked, the interleaving in video mode in the Canon seems to destroy resolution for me.

Thanks guys!

Yep, my original plan was to stack regular photo exposures.... but I forgot to take exposures for 2 of the 3 scenes  The loss of resolution in video mode wasn't an issue in this case given the poor seeing.

I'm still waiting on William Optics to supply the field flattener for my scope... it'd be nice to able to fit the whole moon into the one exposure :)

Nice Dave!

I did however find myself a little overhwelmed by the large amount of black space above the detail. This is just a presentation thing as you have nice detail in the image.

Good luck with the flattener! And keep snapping away and show us your results.
