Lagoon Nebula

Hi all
After imaging Comet Elenin I got the Lagoon Nebula, right overhead.
6x10 mins ISO200. UV/IR filter.Baader MPCC coma corrector Modded 350D. 10 inch f5.6 newtonian off axis hand guided.

Air was very dusty during the afternoon and lots of skyglow in the west, also very moist with water running off the scope, but my antidew system, an electric blanket wrapped round the foam lightshield works great.

Not using a nebula filter seems to bring out more varied colours, not so monochromatic. Got traces of blue in and around the main nebula.

That's one of the nicest Lagoon's I've seen this season Scott. Nicely processed too with the dust coming out in the right spots. Congrats on a great (hand guided!) image.

I agree, one of the better Lagoons this season. That is really nice. Very natural looking processing, detailed, nice colours and great stars, nicely framed.
