Any plans for a quite evening where scrapped when the delivery of a awesome autoguider and BAADER coma corrector showed up yesterday. :)

Plus a quick raid of my weights collection and the need for a makeshift counterweight(2.5kg) was in place :P

So I was hoping to be a half real serious attempt at the Eagle Nebula for a change. I'm quite pleased with the results considering, next door had there outside fluro coming off and on grr and there's still this weird spikes coming off some of the stars. Needless to say im wrapped to be able to sit back and enjoy the autoguiding!

Thanks for looking.

Nice shot:)

Those "weird" spikes coming off the bright stars are caused by the vanes holding your secondary mirror in place:):)

Hey thanks Carl. If you look at the top of the bright stars it seems to flare more there across the image. Maybe its just me been fussy, there just not perfectly round.

Could need to give the collimation a bit of a tweak is all.
Autoguiding is awesome isn't it. :)
You're going to have to buy yerself a dobbie now to give you something to do while you're imaging.

I love it when new toys arrive, great detail in those dust columns.
