Hi IIS,

I am in the middle of designing a very basic observatory shed in the backyard out of colourbond steel.

I am just using the standard slide off roof design most backyard observatories use.

My question relates to the permanent storage/parking of the HEQ5 mount.

Normally, when I park the scope, it sits up at 90 degrees with a height of 2m (including scopes).

Does anyone know if I can choose to park the scope at 0 degrees so that the height is only 1.5m and then resume from that position?

I am using EQMOD via my laptop to control the mount if that assists with any replies.

Cheers
Sam

EQMOD gives an option to park the scope in any position you like to set.
I am sure you can make the park position with the OTA horizontal and the RA (AZM) also horizontal. You can then recover (unpark) to your last known position or the standard home position. I can do it with mine.
Use the set screen window
