Hi, this is David again:

And I was wondering why my version of the stacker program only shows my photos with a column down the middle of the screen? And then there is a small box of the photo it shows at the upper right corner for example. I looked it up on the net and they say it's some kind of software incompatibility problem. My camera is a Canon Rebel EOS T2i.

Also I don't know much about the DSS program. I was wondering if a person needs to have all four of these images (light, dark, flat, and bias) to do much of anything? Like I saw that when I just have a light image the color code is red. But when I include a dark too it turns orange. I suppose that with more info (images) it will eventually turn yellow and then green, indicating that you're getting better.

PS: maybe a tutorial would be good.

Well about getting my LX200GPS off the scopebuggy, I'll try to do that, but will probably wait until I make that permanent setup (like making the observatory) and I'll wait until next year. The area I want to do it in has corn there planted (they'll harvest like in late Oct or Nov). And it will cost something that I haven't saved up for yet.

What are some suggestions? Like also goals and what to try to "cut my teeth" on with my new 70-300mm APO lens and T2i? Maybe the Moon, but even at the 300mm setting Jupiter looks pretty small, but you can see the moons of it.

PPS: does anyone know if roughly 25 megabytes is good for a typical RAW image?

And can a person just subtract a dark from the light in DSS and the result will look pretty good?

Thank you.
David

I had the same issue, a few of us have in fact.
Lucky it's an easy fix. :D
You need to download DeepSkyStacker V3.3.3 Beta
The download is on this page.
