After posting my first attempt at Saturn yesterday (see thread "My first Saturn pic (25/01/2006)") and saying I don't think I will do any better than this, I just went back to a series of 23 images I took on 27 Jan 2006 and decided to play around with Registax.
After following David's Registax tutorial, this was the result of my efforts :)
Don't forget it is only a 40mm refractor for those just tuning in who were expecting Hubble quality images! ;)
Good start Middy,
If you could see my first attemp at Saturn you'd swear your's was taken with Hubble.
Soon you'll be cranking them out non-stop.
Good work.

That is a great effort for a 40mm refractor. I take my hat off to you for trying this with a relatively small aperture, following through by processing the results in Registax and posting the results - great job.
The work you are doing and lessons you are learning will stand you in good stead when you are able to image through a larger instrument.
Cheers

I thought I'd already seen the best Saturn you could take with a 40mm refractor... but this tops even your last effort - good onya Middy!:)
