NGC7331 and beyound
I decided to go really deep on this famous group of galaxies as I detected cirrus in a earlier shot a couple of years ago. I processed this to show as much depth of field as I could with the foreground NGC7331 emerging from whisps of dust. Click to zoom and pan around at the details . . . .

Thanks for taking the time to look,
Kindest Regards,

lots of background galaxy's there - my favorite kind of astro shot.

There are as many background galaxies as stars and the dust lanes in 7331 are like I have not seen before with the strange galaxy on the upper right with fuzzy patch across it and the beautiful fine spiral arms in 7337.

Wow Ken that's a beauty! Lots of cirrus but I can't see a tidal stream...?
Hell of a bit of exposure there too!!!
I must say though, I don't like zoomify it is impossible to enjoy the image properly, the panning and time for the res to download as you zoom in and pan around is cumbersome and distracting.
Great job mate!
Mike
ED: OK forget that! pressing full screen mode is much better! Mike is an idiot

Hi Ken,
An excellent photo that you can't stop looking at.
So many galaxies.
Every part of it draws you in.....amazing!
Thanks.
Ross.

Thanks Mike!! As you know the exposure length is no big deal using CCDAP as it all happens while I sleep :)
I wish I could make the full screen button larger as I am sure many people miss that feature.
Thanks again,
Ken Crawford

Thanks for noticing the APOD . ..
This cirrus does make it hard to do star stream hunting and is one of the obsticals that are hardest to work around. . .

That's simply a superb galaxy image, many thanks for sharing this Ken. Definitely one of the best galaxy vistas I have seen in a long time. Colours and processing is just beautiful, and the cirrus adds some nice perspective to the image. There is so much to look at, and each individual galaxy seems so beautifully presented with its own unique details. It's extremely well done.

A wonderful image Ken, I like the zoom aspect, it gives me a chance to have a close up look at different areas.
