Hello!

As it's getting towards a Full Moon, I thought I'd get the QHY5 out and about and image parts of the Moon. My target tonight was Crater Gassendi as it has a lot of interesting features within the crater itself. It also gave me a chance to try out my new electronic focuser! I used a 2x Barlow which gave me about f/14...

The resultant picture was the best 1000 frames of a 1500 frame avi stacked in Registax6. I then applied wavelets within Registax6 and then did some further processing within StarTools and PS.

I'm happy with this image as focus was as good as it gets!

Cheers,
Mario

Looks very good, Mario. Your focus is great and the sky must have been steady to get such sharp shadows on the mountain peaks in the crater.

awesome photo!

8" newt on an HEQPro5 is a good achievement too - that must be close to max capacity?
