Had a go at some images of jupiter and saturn. Captured video using a Canon A495 powershot held up to the eyepiece of my 10"dob.
Then extracted the frames and stacked the images using RegiStax.
I know there not great and the colors arnt right but hey its my first attempt.

Not bad at all for a first attempt and the method. You have potential and you are on the slippery slope of $$$$ spent. Welcome to the dark(s) side of astronomy. :camera:

Nice work Paula.. Hand-held?? You have really steady hands.
I love seeing these shots as it gives people more of an idea how planets actually look visually through a telescope. So many people expect hubble-type images when they take their first look!
I have a Celestron Neximage camera that I'm not using for the next month if you'd like to borrow it and have a go.

Paula,
For a single shot from effectively a "point and shot" type camera, these are relatively good. Saturn is well presented so you certainly seem to know how to capture an image. Why not get yourself a nice 2nd or 3rd hand DSLR or even better a planetary camera (Neximage, DBK, Meade etc)
Well done!!
Darrin...
