Hi folks.

I have spotted an Intes MK65 150mm f10 mak cass for sale on a driven EQ mount for $700-ish.

I havent seen this scope but was pondering its suitability as a portable scope and potential for imaging should I decide to decide to be as masochistic as some other members.

Any idea what field I could expect to fit on something like a toucam ?

I saw this one on E-bay yesterday for a $750 starting price but there were no bids when it finished.

One thing that came to mind is that this telescope should be about 10 years old by now so it's mirrors probably need realuminising.

I agree, it will be old, and possibly that is why it is cheaper.
I also reckon for lunar/planetary the f10 (or in my case f12 scopes are just fine), BUT for DSO you either need to use a focal reducer, or forget it. See my Eta post.

My thoughts was it was old and the MK67 is a better scope.:D

Interestingly lately there seems to be a smattering of real scopes for a change on ebay.

Hello MiG,

welcome.

Yes Geoff, it is usually full of supermarket junk scopes.

Without sounding like an Andrews ad again, he has some cheapie 'driven' Maks. I'll go check the prices.
