G'day All,

I will be comming down to Melbourne in late July this year to attend the International Planetarium Society (IPS) meeting. Because this is the first time the IPS is being held in the Southern Hempisphere, and most of those attending are from north of the Equator, an observing session is being held one evening out at Heathcote to show those poor northerners what awesome skies we have.

So my simple question is this - What are the skies like from Heathcote in late July? :confuse3:

Peter.

I've lived in Tooborac/ Heathcote for 20 years, observing with various telescopes. The ASV astrophotographic section used to come up to my site and Leon Mow thought it was soooo good he bought the current 40 acres as a dark sky site for the ASV. ( It's only 5km from my home!)
Like many things in life it's a compromise BUT when its good it's VERY good.
Highly recommended ( well I maybe a bit biased, never mind) also the wine is world class try some Eppalock Ridge Shiraz, your life will never be the same.
