SPX350 F4.53, ATK-16HR, Astrodon filters Ha/S2-5nm, O3-3nm.

Had to have a go at this one with the strong Ha structures, stars are pink and did have some RGB but could not combine satisfactorily but pink stars don't look that bad do they?

With Bassnut's close in of the Columns had a go at star removal with dust and scratches and healing brush.

Seeing was good when imaging the Ha but the breeze is always present here at some point during the night, have a strand of cotton hanging to see if the breeze is present but PHD guiding shows it becoming pretty obvious as the night progresses.

S2/Ha/O3 - 190/60/130mins. S2/O3 in 10min subs and 5min subs for Ha.

Thanks John.

Overall kick R's resolution and beautiful strong colours John .

The pink stars are neither here nor there really and although it certainly looks sharpened, hey, the exercise here was clearly to extract detail...and that has been done in spades

At least the seeing was good for you...wish I could have some

Best to date I reckon. The tricolor version is terrific and the details in the bok globules not seen that good before. Top stuff.

Lovely image John, this palette is the best for Narrow band. Like the colours, and the detail. Very nice.

Just beautiful! That must be one of the sharpest pillar images I have seen. I love this high resolution stuff.
Very delicate details all over and nice processing I think. The colours balance nicely and this is one of the targets that really does look good in NB.

Thanks guys, blues oranges and greens do sit well with each other but stars are a little garish. Couldn't help but sharpen so some stars have dark halos (should have used a star layer) but the Ha came out very well in good seeing. S2 needed some considerable lifting around the bottom and left side but it seemed to work out. The 3nm OIII really shows texture to the normally flat response in the O3 area and is suprisingly noise free for such a narrow filter with a fast scope.

Regards, John.

Execellent John - the depth of field shows that molecular cloud just bvelow and to the left of the pillars as an obvious foreground object - it is usually blended in with the background - it looks like a hill with the himalayas in the background - fantastic.
