Hello all
I was able to image the big ball in the sky today. There are some large sunspot groups and nice hydrogen alpha activity.
I did something new today - I used the pressure tuner on the Lunt to gain whitelight type images and have presented them as a comparison to my usual Ha work.
Thanks for looking!

Nice images Matt.
Very interesting to hear the Ha scope can also do white light. I never knew you could do that. That is very flexible.
I wonder if the entry level Coronado PST scopes can do the same thing?

Hi Ivan
I am not sure if the result from the Lunt is technically white light (what our eye would see if we could look) by using the pressure tuner - but it would be close? - others may know.
I do not believe the PST has the range that the Lunt has so I think that would be a no on your question.

Lovely work Matt. I had a bit of a session that was quite teasing at times, with the odd burst of quite good seeing but it did not persist and a review of the AVI’s that I recorded indicates that they are not worth the CPU cycles or time to process them.
Your “WL” look-a-likes appear very realistic and show lovely detail.
Cheers

Great pics Matt and nice comparison . I am able to get a similar result with my Daystar scope and tilt tuner. But never seem to get quite the surface detail or as sharp as you get it.
