I just want to say i am so sad about the events in Norway and that my thoughts are with those affected. What a terrible time they must be going through. What drives some people! You could never expect it from your own people.

Yes, bizzare what has happened over there!

They say the 2 events aren't even related, just a coincidence. I wonder

EDIT: Just read they now think the one person did both the bombing and the shooting :screwy:

They think he set the car bomb in place, then caught a ferry to the island where he shot & killed dozens of people (mainly teenagers), meanwhile his car bomb went off almost killing the Prime Minister of Norway. The building is wrecked and some people died.

Very sad indeed.

I'm still trying to contact 2 friends living over there, my thoughts go out to the families of the victims

Very sad....tragic.

Unfortunately, you can and have to expect this sort of thing from anybody. What drives a person to commit such a heinous act...whatever it is that has been going through their mind that's led up to the act they commit. Given the right circumstances and the frame of mind, anyone is capable of committing acts like this. It just fortunate that those that succumb to these dark thoughts are few and far between. However, it only takes one to do much damage.

The news just reported that the man they arrested has admitted the crimes. He said his actions were atrocious but necessary. :screwy::screwy:

What are some people thinking? What did he hope to achieve?

I'm trying to be happy for Cadel Evans but it's hard to be happy about anything at the moment. The commentators remarked several times that there were so many Norwegians in France watching the tour that no one was left in Norway. Were that this was true. :(
