Am I happy with my new lens? A sunny morning and the Pardalotes investigating one of our nesting boxes tell me "yes".

Lovely photos Paddy. I hope they choose the nesting box for their next home – it’s nice to be able provide shelter for creatures displaced by the loss of their natural habitat.
Cheers

Gorgeous bird! Did you use any fill-flash for this? How close were you and what focal length was the shot?
Baz.
So adorable Paddy!
I saw a spotted pardalote in our backyard many years ago. Haven't seen one since though.

Paddy,
You are really good at this. A born natural.
The lighting is magic.
More, please.
Also, would love to see you try your hands on landscapes.

Hi Paddy,
Absolutely beautiful and you appear to be getting your eye in with that new lens.

Thanks everyone. Barry, I didn't need any flash as it was beautiful morning sunlight from behind me, so lighting was perfect. And I was probably 2-3 metres away. He was keeping a bit of an eye on me, but they hang around our house (hand have nested in the roof) quite a bit so they're pretty used to us. Dennis, they used the boxes heaps last year so I expect they will again. We have quite a few different nest boxes and they all get used and it feels great to provide some habitat.
