Hi, not sure but I think its a scratch on the primary mirror on my 10"gso dob about 1cm off centre.
I just spoke to Andrews communications where I got it from and he said that's is normal for small scratches on the mirror and it won't affect it at all.
Is this right or should I be sending it back to tem to look at it?
I've only had the scope 2 days.

'Normal' for a scratch to be on optics? NO it is not normal lol.
It'd be back in the post by now if it were me. Just make sure it IS a scratch though.

how long is it? as a new product it should not have come like that, they should be offering a replacement or a discount - perhaps a $50 voucher or something...
in saying this though small scratches will most likely not be discernible at the eyepiece - & you will not know its there

It's not very long about 1cm and u can only see it in a certian light/position u have to keep moving your head to see it.

I just spoke to a guy at Bintel and he said a small scratch won't affect it at all but I would be entitled to a replacement/new/refund.

If it's 1 cm off centre it will be masked by the secondary mirror anyway. If you centre spotted your primary mirror it would be covered ?

Yeah, I should have mentioned a potential scratch that size won't effect your views. I still say it certainly isn't 'normal' per se. If you are willing to accept it as such, it's your choice. Good luck with whatever you decide to do
