Went for the Lagoon nebula again last night but used the 1.6 extender on the FSQ-106 to get a bit closer. Not sure if it is overcooked but this one isn't easy :P. 7x10min subs using a SXVF-25mc.....cheers for looking

Looks OK Beren, maybe a bit overcooked but it does look OK to me. No point having a red nebula if it aint red.

Gotta love the FSQ.

Hi Stuart

I love the 3D look of this image – the curtains of nebulosity really give a strong impression of depth. Nice job!

What is the wispy nebulosity surrounding the bright star towards the left edge of the frame, approx ½ way up?

Cheers

Dennis

Hi Beren,

A great photo.

So sharp and so much detail.

I love the colour.

Thanks.

Lovely result Beren. Rich saturation has brought this image alive. More please.

I like it Beren. Colour is perhaps a bit strong but then personally I quite like strong colours. Its not really a nailed down this is right and this is wrong issue. CSI Miami colours kind of look cool but then there will be part of your audience that won't like it. There's kind of a band of agreement on things like this where there's a certain amount of tolerance and as long as you are in the band you will find the bulk like it.
Too far away from that band and it becomes garish.

Greg.

:thumbsup: Thanks Doug, not happy with the brighter stars think i have blown them out {:P}

:) Thanks Dennis.....I think Marks right with the ID of the neb

 Thanks Jase

:) Cheers John

 Thanks Greg, yes wasn't sure with the colour but looking over the web for M8 images there seems to be quite a wide range of interpretations so I thought I might as well push it a bit.....cheers mate for the advice.

I like the nebulosity depth and saturation but think the stars in the field need to be worked on a little. These are currently a little too pink in my estimation. Nice work generally though.

Very saturated image Beren for a OSC sensor, quite good!
I find the stars in the field a bit fancy however, did u use a stars reduction algorithm perhaps?

Thanks Paul

Cheers Louie, your Tutorials on your site very helpful mate.

:) Cheers Marc

:) Thanks Marco, yes I did use some form of star reduction using one of the many PS plugins, will definitely look at a reprocess with fresh eyes :P
