SOLDAstro Optical 6 inch F7 Reflecting telescope on Dobsonian mount. Focal length is 1050mm.
All metal tube finished in Grey Enamel. Handmade in Australia, marine grade plywood Dobsonian mount. Very solid construction, has done many hours of service, public demonstrations, and it has even been shown on TV during the Leonid meteor showers!
Mirror is F7 aperture and gives a great image especially of planets.
Mount is good and stays put, glides smoothly with Formica / Teflon mounting glides.
Comes with a brand new LED spot finderscope, and one Unitron 25mm Orthoscopic eyepiece. Eyepiece is in mint condition. The mirror is quite old now and is a little bit dirty, so it could use a re-aluminizing. The mirror is very well made though, so it would be worth the effort as it has always given superb images. I tested it a few weeks ago on Saturn and was impressed by the amount of detail it gave.
You can certainly use it as is, but refurbishing the mirror will give fine results.
It was my first scope and it would suit a beginner or someone who likes a small portable Dobsonian telescope.
Total asking price of this setup with the accessories is $350.00
